In co-op, when you have your partner grabbed, you can either throw them so they can come down out of the air with one of their aerial attacks, OR you can use your J+A input when throwing them to unleash a dual tech! These attacks will consume around the same amount of power as a special input normally from BOTH characters, but they typically do a lot of damage/provide lengthy i-frames. These attacks will consume practically the entire power meter, but are quite potent, particularly in packed screens. In red HP, with 100% of your power meter, your character has access to their Desperation Move (DM). DENJIN MAKAI 2 MOVE LIST FULLNot quite as effective as a full charge, but could be a smart way to get enough power back in a pinch. You will also restore a moderate portion of your power meter when you get back up after being knocked down from an enemy attack, explosion, etc. This is the fastest way to recover lost energy without having a power-restoring pickup available. If you stand still for a moment, your character will begin 'charging up' (think Dragonball Z or some over the top anime power up moment). Some special attacks, such as everyone's universal J+A special attack, do not consume meter unless they actually strike an opponent, but will still provide i-frames (invulnerability frames). Specials generally consume around 1/3 of your total maximum power meter. Combo attacks or multi-hitting attacks that you defend against can drain your meter quickly, so be careful about block punishes! Blocking attacks doesn't result in any 'chip damage' doing damage to your HP, rather your power meter will deplete for every instance a hit is blocked. Everybody can block by holding the A button for a few frames, and continuing to hold. While in your dash/run state, you can also move vertically by continuing to hold forward, then moving up or down on the vertical plane as you would normally. Everybody can dash/run by tapping forward in the direction they are facing twice, OR this can be shortcut with a quick b,f (back, forward, then hold forward) motion. (All commands listed are assuming the player is facing right!)
